Reading Queer promotes queer literary culture in South Florida. Founded in 2012 by Neil de la Flor, Paula Kolek and Maureen Seaton with a Knight Arts Challenge Grant, Reading Queer produces the RQ Literary Festival, the first annual queer-centric literary festival of its kind in South Florida, the RQ Writing Academy, a series of creative writing workshops that fosters the careers of South Florida based queer writers, the RQ – O Cinema Film Series, a queer film series, and the RQ Archive, an digital archive of queer voices.
